My office building is across the street from Pier 40 - I have stood at the windows and watched the people you describe. Working tirelessly. I am amazed. I would much rather be out there helping than in here doing my job but that hasn't been an option. I discovered the closed streets on W. Houston my first day back in the city. I normally walk from the 1/9 subway station the couple of blocks to my building but found on Monday that there are police and barricades up across the street. So, I walk a few extra blocks to get my building but I have to say I'm kinda glad to see the police there.
