Thanks for the t shirts and the fun times Susan J Komen team, it was a blast and I learned a lot about the cars and felt good about helping out.
If you have a chance to help the Susan J Komen Drive for the Cure team move cars, give it a whirl!
:)
I hear that BMW contacts local CCA clubs to ask for drivers, so please check with them and volunteer! NJ and SE PA events have already come and gone, so keep your eyes open, and Ask!
I was majorly bummed as the car I wanted to drive, the new M3, was in for service. Oh well, I chose the 325xi as a friend of mine is potentially in the market for one. Very nice auto, with a lot of pep, considering the 2.5 liter's power and the car's overall weight.
When we were stuck in traffic, I couldn't help but think of Bobby Womack's song used in the movie Jackie Brown -
I loved the 325xi's seats. They seem too tall to fit into a Z3, but they definitely were comfortable.
By the way, Vin drove a 540 sport wagon. I drove a 540 sedan last year, and even in automatic form it's PDQ.
This was the second drive I'd volunteered for this year for the Komen group, and it's definitely a worthwhile cause. When you volunteer, you register for a date/dealership, and drive one of the fleet (there are white and silver fleets covering different parts of the US) to the next dealership in the schedule. At the new dealership is a shuttle bus that brings you back to your starting point. The event takes 4 hours of your time, at most.
Please be sure to contact your local CCA to find out how you can help!
